battle without honor or humanity
So a week after our Halloween show at the Sidebar, we played another, more unique Zuul show a couple Fridays ago. We generally only ever play clubs in Baltimore, and that's partly due to some of the guys in the band being very focused on what kinds of shows are worth doing and what aren't. But Mike got an offer from one of his old friends to play a gig down in lower Maryland, and he talked us into doing the show. The show was at a Knights of Columbus hall in Odenton, Maryland, one of those little bills with 5 local metal bands on it.

Since Zac and his girlfriend Brigid happened to be flying in from Wisconsin that weekend, it was a good opportunity for my brother to finally see Zuul. And they ended up bringing Dad and his girlfriend Linda to the show to, so it was a family affair. I really don't know what they made of it. We're very loud and kind of chaotic and strange. I hope they enjoyed it.

The one thing about the show that was kind of a bummer is that they had a curfew so by the time we got onstage, they were pressed for time. We finally had a 30 minute set, and we had to cut it down to more like 20 and skip a few songs. So that was kind of a bummer. I think we played well, though. I hope we get to do more shows like that in the future. I just enjoy the experience of getting out there in front of different audiences and showing them what we do.

After we played, the fam went home, and I stuck around to watch the other bands with the Zuul fellas. We consumed copious amounts of jello shots, and Sean hit on a 14-year-old girl. It was all very debauched rock'n'roll craziness.
