different toilet, same shit
About a week ago, I was walking to my car after going to the movies, and I realized that I didn't have my wallet. I immediately became paranoid about being pickpocketed and thought back to a minute earlier when I'd passed a guy on the street who gave me a weird look, and suddenly I was convinced this guy stole my wallet, and I tried to backtrack in the direction he'd been walking, but I had no luck finding him.

So I headed back to the theater, pretty much freaking out and dreading the realization that my wallet was gone. But I showed my stub and one of the ushers let me back in and I scanned the middle rows where I was sitting and sure enough there it was, sitting on the floor right in front of where I was sitting. I guess when I put my knees up on the back of the seat in front of me it fell out. I felt like a dumbass, but a happy dumbass, a relieved dumbass. It's a good thing I didn't track down my suspect, I probably would have grabbed him and shook him until he gave it back. That would've been bad.

It wasn't until it was over and I calmed down that I realized how heavy I was breathing during those 5 minutes of uncertainty as I rushed back to the theater. My lungs ached for over an hour afterward. I guess I'm kind of sheltered/lucky if such an (imagined) run-in with crime can shake me up that much.

I ran out of toilet paper a couple days ago, and realized that the entire 6 months he's lived here, my roommate Jace has never bought TP. I've always been the one to replenish the supply. And since I'm leaving for my trip to see my brother this weekend, I've decided to abstain from buying TP until I leave, so that Jace will be in the TP-less apartment by himself for nearly a week and will be pretty much forced to buy some for once. He's moving out at the end of the month and goddammit, I just want to win this one little battle of wills before he's out of my life. If when I come back a week from now he still hasn't bought toilet paper, then he'll have called my bluff and I will gladly restock the supply myself.
