First of all, congratulations to Mat and Emily, who got engaged last weekend. They’re both great people and a great couple and I wish them the best. A few weeks ago, my roommate since Febuary, Jace, gave me a heads up that he’s not going back to school in the fall, so he’s going to be moving out at the end of the summer. Now, our lease had just been renewed for another year, but it’s not like I’m mad at him for not giving me proper notice or anything. I’m not graduating until this time next year, so I’m staying here at least til then whether or not he’s here. And the fact is, we haven’t really clicked as roommates, we barely talk to each other or remain in the same room at the same time for long, unless we’re discussing rent or something. And at least he’s leaving early enough that it won’t be hard to find someone to take his room for the last 10 months of the lease, whereas if there were only 3 or 4 months it’d probably be a lot harder. For a minute it looked like my brother might be moving back out east this year, and I was a little hyped about the idea of him moving in here. But he decided against that, which is cool, he’s got his reasons. Kelly had a lead for me, but I haven’t heard from her friend yet. But last week I got a call out of the blue from Landon, who’s a good friend of my bandmate and former roommate Mike. Turns out Landon’s going to start school here in the fall. So that might work out, I still need to call him back and get some kind of confirmation, plus Jace hasn’t given me a solid date yet. But I’m hopeful about Landon, he’s a cool guy and I’ve hung out him plenty of times. He’s kind of a crazy guy, he was in the military for a couple years and got discharged. But he’s rational, we can talk out any qualms I have before sealing the deal. So far the summer’s been progressing at a good pace. I’m getting worn down by work, though, I just had a vacation a week ago and I’m already itching for another one. My 67-hour work week is over, but I’m pretty worn down from it and I still have 40 this week. J.G. didn’t get the summer internship she wanted, which is a bummer, but she got another job offer pretty quickly afterwards, so she can get some cash in her pocket and not be bored at home all summer. Hopefully we’ll find time to do some fun stuff this summer, we’re talking about going back to the beach, going camping, going to Hershey Park, hitting museums. I love this time of year.
