2004-03-24 - 3:51 p.m. but why the rubber band? it representin’ the struggle, man
Well, my spring break is about halfway over now, and it’s already feeling more and more like a regular week. I mean, I’m working the same amount of hours as I do any other week, I just don’t have to go to class. Which in itself is nice, since I had a bunch of midterms last week and I was starting to get burned out. But I’m actually sleeping in less this week than I usually do, because most weeks I work mornings 3 days a week, and the other days I don’t have class til the afternoon. But this week, since I’m the only student worker who’s still in town for spring break and I told work I’m available, they told me to just come in for 4 hours at 9am every day this week. Which is cool with me, because it means after 1pm I’m free for the rest of the day. In theory, at least. I have a tendency to fill up any gap in my free time with plans whether I want to or not, so probably every day this week, I’m only home for a couple hours after work before I’m off to my other job, or to something else. On Tuesday I went down to Dad’s house after work to catch up on things and have dinner and it was cool to see him. Working on campus is actually a lot more palatable with all the other student workers not here. A lot of those guys get on my nerves, it’s nice to have the office to myself. The two older contract workers, Bruce and Batty, are pretty weird guys, but they’re funny and pretty laid back to work with. Congrats to Zac, who just got a sweet new job up in Wisconsin and will be raking in mad cheddar. Do it big with the flicks, bro! -al
