This week has been pretty blah. I had a test, my 2nd test in the math class where I miserably failed the first test. This time I brought a calculator, though, and I think I did pretty good. Although, I thought I did pretty good the first time, too, until I got the grade back. So hopefully I’ll get something better on this one. I’ve got a couple more tests next week that I just have to buckle down and study for, and then I’ve got a week of spring break. I’m not really doing anything special for spring break probably, just staying in town and working and enjoying not having to go to class. I might go visit Mom or J.G. at school if I have time, though. My boy Scott was going to try and come down to Baltimore and hang out for the weekend, but it ended up not working out. He was going to take the train, but that fell through and I don’t have enough time this weekend to go pick him up in Newark. But maybe another weekend when I don’t have as heavy a work schedule, we’ll try and do that. About three weeks ago, my car started acting a little funny, a bit of smoke coming out from under the hood and something leaking a lot. But the car kept running fine, and since I was broke I didn’t want to address the problem until I absolutely had to. So yesterday I finally took the car to Jiffy Lube to get all the fluids filled, besides the oil, which Joe changed for me when I was back home. And they told me I needed transmission fluid, which was going to cost a lot more than I was ready to pay. So I was going to write them a check and hope that I got paid enough next week to cover. So when they told me that I had a leak in the transmission fluid and they could only top it off, I was actually kind of relieved, because it meant I’d only be paying $50 instead of $150. As for the leak, that’s a new problem, but it’s something I’ll get around to looking into sometime soon. J.G.’s spring break was this week, and she got to take a couple friends with her out to California where a lot of her family lives and stay with her grandmother. I talked to her last night and it sounded like she’s had a great week. I hope I get to go out there with her sometime. Shame our spring breaks don’t sync up. But she’s flying home today and hopefully I’ll get to see her a little before she goes back to school. -al
